NBA Supercard

Role: Game Designer

I worked on the design team to help ship and maintain NBA Supercard. A Card collecting and battling game based around players in the NBA and WNBA. 

 

Working mostly within an in-house engine and tooling, I collaborated heavily with Design Leads, programmers, and artists to bring new game modes, events, and features from concept to release.

 

My main task while designing for NBA Supercard was to create and maintain the system framework in which cards were balanced. This system, which was built and balanced within Microsoft Excel, governed the individual card stats for every player in the game across all tiers and events. In addition, I also created projections for future tier and event card releases so production and balance could be mapped out ahead of time for as far into the future as necessary.

Documentation and communication were also major parts of my role at Koolhaus. With every design came a piece of documentation that I created and presented to other key stakeholders. Taking questions and clarifying intended designs through the iteration process meant I actively engaged with other Designers, Programmers, and Artists throughout the lifetime of a feature.
